Piers Ottey trained at Chelsea School of Art in the 1970s and has been painting professionally since 1978. He moved to West Sussex in 1980 and established The Mill Studio Art School in 1994.

Much of his work stems from visiting places at home and abroad. From his studio he has developed a very personal approach to life-painting. The artist paints what he is passionate about, be it Sussex, his dog Audrey or his motorbikes. Ottey has exhibited across Europe and his work is held in private, corporate and public collections around the world.

Artists with a sense of humour are agile, deft and defy categorisation, which is wonderfully refreshing when the work is as challenging as is Piers Ottey’s – Mary Rose Beaumont, Art Historian and Critic
